NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Craig Lade (“Plaintiff”) has filed a Complaint pursuant to 46 U.S.C. §§ 30501 et seq., claiming the right to exoneration from or limitation of liability for any claims that have arisen or may arise out of an incident that occurred at Castaways Marina on the Mississippi River near Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, on March 7, 2023, in which Plaintiff's motor vessel “RIVER BELLE,” a 1978 Gibson Houseboat, 50 feet in length, with Hull Identification Number GBN50128M78J (“the Vessel”), caught on fire while moored at Slip #41 of Castaways Marina (the “Incident”). The procedures governing such petitions are set forth in Rule F of the Supplemental Rules for Admiralty or Maritime Claims and Asset Forfeiture Actions.
All persons or entities having any claims relating to the March 7, 2023 Incident must, no later than September 8, 2023, file their claims with the Clerk of Court for the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, and serve or mail a copy of their claims on Plaintiff's attorney, Vince C. If a claimant wishes to contest Plaintiff's right to exoneration from or limitation of liability, the claimant shall file and serve an answer to the Complaint, as required by Rule F(5) of the Supplemental Rules for Admiralty or Maritime Claims and Asset Forfeiture Actions, unless the claimant's claim included an answer.
