Summary of Misconduct:

Mr. Kertz, who was licensed in 1977, was censured. He falsely advised a client that the client's case had settled. He then paid $10,000 of his own money to the client, representing to the client that the funds were the client's purported share of the settlement proceeds.


Order of the Court:

The petition by the Administrator of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission to impose discipline on consent pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 762(b) is allowed, and respondent Larry Steven Kertz is censured.
