IN THE INTEREST OF JLA, a Child

From the 224th Judicial District Court, Bexar County, Texas

Trial Court No. 2012-PA-02800

Honorable Richard Garcia, Judge Presiding

ORDER

This is an accelerated appeal of an order terminating appellant's parental rights which must be disposed of by this court no later than 180 days after the date the notice of appeal was filed. TEX. R. JUD. ADMIN. 6. The reporter's record for this appeal was originally due to be filed on December 2, 2013. On December 5, 2013, Ms. Angie Jimenez, the court reporter responsible for preparing the reporter's record, filed a notification of late record requesting an extension of time to file the record to December 26, 2013. On December 9, 2013, this court issued an order granting the extension in part, and ordering that the reporter's record be filed no later than December 19, 2013. See TEX. R. APP. P. 35.3(c) (extension of time in accelerated appeal may not exceed 10 days). Our order stated, " FURTHER REQUESTS FOR EXTENSIONS OF TIME TO FILE THE RECORDS WILL BE DISFAVORED ."

Despite our prior order, the reporter's record has not been filed. It is therefore ORDERED that Ms. Angie Jimenez file the reporter's record in this court no later than January 6, 2014. If the record is not received by such date, an order will be issued directing Ms. Jimenez to appear and show cause why she should not be held in contempt for failing to file the record. The clerk of this court shall cause a copy of this order to be served on Ms. Angie Jimenez by certified mail, return receipt requested, or give other personal notice of this order with proof of delivery. Because "[t]he trial and appellate courts are jointly responsible for ensuring that the appellate record is timely filed," TEX. R. APP. P. 35.3(c), the clerk of the court is directed to serve a copy of this order on the Honorable Cathleen Stryker, Judge of the 144th Judicial District Court, and on the Honorable Richard Garcia, who signed the termination order.
