IN THE INTEREST OF J. K. G. JR., a Child
From the 408th Judicial District Court, Bexar County, Texas Trial Court No. 2022-PA-00379 Honorable Charles E. Montemayor, Judge Presiding
ORDER
PER CURIAM
This is an accelerated appeal from a final order terminating appellant's parental rights which must be disposed of by this court within 180 days of the date the notice of appeal was filed. See Tex. R. Jud. Admin 6.2. The appellant's brief was due on October 2, 2023. However, the appellant has filed a motion requesting an extension of time to file the appellant's brief. The motion is GRANTED. The appellant's brief is due on or before October 23, 2021.
Given the time constraints governing the disposition of this appeal, further requests for extensions of time will be disfavored.
Appellant's motion also requests we order the trial court clerk to "file supplemental [clerk's] records to ensure all documents are available for preparation of Appellant's brief . . . ." The motion indicates appellant has not made a request for a supplement clerk's record to the trial court clerk. Instead, appellant asks that we make the request on appellant's behalf. However, it is the appellant's burden to ensure the appellate record is complete. See We Deliver, Inc. v. Calderon, No. 04-19-00132-CV, 2020 WL 4218691, at *4 (Tex App.-San Antonio July 22, 2020, pet denied). Of course, we do not foreclose appellant from seeking relief in this court if, after proper request, the trial court clerk refuses to file a supplemental record. But appellant must first make the request to the trial court clerk for documents appellant determines are missing from the appellate record. Accordingly, appellant's request that we order the trial court clerk to file a supplemental record is DENIED.
It is so ORDERED.
