IN RE AKIRA IMAI, Relator

ON APPLICATION FOR A WRIT OF MANDAMUS CAUSE NO. J-17005851-01 IN THE MUNICIPAL COURT OF THE CITY OF DALLAS DALLAS COUNTY

Per curiam. ORDER

Relator has filed a motion for leave to file an application for a writ of mandamus pursuant to the original jurisdiction of this Court. He contends, among other things, that the judge did not have authority to order the defense to disclose videos for a pretrial evidentiary ruling.

Relator's motion to stay proceedings in the Municipal Court is granted. The Municipal Court's June 29, 2017 order granting continuance for review of videos is hereby stayed, pending further order of this Court.

Respondent, the Presiding Judge of the Municipal Court of the City of Dallas, is invited to respond to Relator's allegations. The Real Party in Interest, the Dallas City Attorney, is also invited to provide a response. All answers shall be submitted within 45 days of the date of this order. This application for leave to file a writ of mandamus will be held in abeyance for 45 days. Filed: July 5, 2017
