ORDER
By order of July 22, 2022, the Department of Health and Human Services was directed and the child's lawyer-guardian ad litem was invited to answer the application for leave to appeal the May 19, 2022 judgment of the Court of Appeals. On order of the Court, the answers having been received, the application for leave to appeal is again considered. We direct the Clerk to schedule oral argument on the application. MCR 7.305(H)(1). The parties shall file supplemental briefs in accordance with MCR 7.312(E) addressing whether: (1) the Oakland Family Court correctly assumed jurisdiction over the minor child pursuant to MCL 712A.2(b)(1) under the circumstances of this case; (2) In re Hockett, Minor,__ Mich.App. __ (October 21, 2021) (Docket No. 353132), was correctly decided; and (3) the family court in this case should have assumed jurisdiction over the child pursuant to MCL 712A.2(b)(3)(A). No extensions shall be granted absent a showing of good cause.
The Children's Law Section and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan are invited to file briefs amicus curiae. Other persons or groups interested in the determination of the issues presented in this case may move the Court for permission to file briefs amicus curiae.
