Lake County Super. Ct. No. JV320197

Lambden, J.

V.D. (mother) is the mother of H.D. On June 24, 2008, the Lake County Department of Social Services (department) filed a juvenile dependency petition alleging that H.D., born in 2001, came within section 300, subdivisions (a), (b), and (g) of the Welfare and Institutions Code. At the jurisdiction hearing, the trial court found the petition to be true.

In its disposition report, department stated that it “believe[d] that the central problem” in mother’s life was “her lack of mental stability, possibly caused by an overuse of prescription drugs, depression and/or use of drugs or alcohol” and that it believed that she “need[ed] support and counseling to stabilize her mental health.” At the end of the disposition hearing, the lower court found clear and convincing evidence showed there would be a substantial danger to H.D.’s physical health, safety, protection, or physical or emotional well being if she were to be returned home and ordered reunification services for mother.

Mother appealed from the jurisdiction and disposition orders. After mother filed her opening brief in this court, department filed on April 13, 2009, an unopposed motion to dismiss the appeal. Department stated that the appeal was moot because mother died on March 18, 2009. Department attached a copy of the certified death certificate.

Since the appeal is now moot, we hereby dismiss the appeal.

We concur: Haerle, Acting P.J., Richman, J.
