IN THE INTEREST OF G.P., a Child

From the 37th Judicial District Court, Bexar County, Texas Trial Court No. 2018PA00588 Honorable John D. Gabriel Jr., Judge Presiding.

ORDER

PER CURIAM

This is an accelerated appeal of an order terminating appellant's parental rights which must be disposed of by this court within 180 days of the date the notice of appeal is filed. Tex. R. Jud. Admin. 6.2. Appellant's brief was originally due by May 20, 2024, and it was not filed. We therefore ordered appellant to file her brief by July 1, 2024. On July 1, 2024, appellant filed a motion requesting a fourteen-day extension of time to file her brief.

After consideration, we grant appellant's motion and order appellant to file her brief by July 15, 2024. Counsel is advised if he does not file the brief by the date ordered, we may abate this appeal to the trial court for an abandonment hearing. See TEX. FAM. CODE ANN. § 107.013(a)(1) (giving indigent persons right to counsel in termination cases); In re M.S., 115 S.W.3d 534, 544 (Tex. 2003) (holding that right to counsel in termination cases includes right to effective counsel).

It is so ORDERED.
