Recommended discipline imposed: disbarred

The court orders that THOMAS SCOTT GERAGHTY (Respondent), State Bar Number 230271, is disbarred from the practice of law and that Respondent's name is stricken from the roll of attorneys.

Respondent must make restitution to the following payees or such other recipient as may be designated by the Office of Probation or the State Bar Court (or reimburse the Client Security Fund, to the extent of any payment from the Fund to such payees, in accordance with Business and Professions Code section 6140.5). Reimbursement to the Fund is enforceable as a money judgment and may be collected by the State Bar through any means permitted by law:

(1) Bobbie Allen in the amount of $1,849.97 plus 10 percent interest per year from February 26, 2016;
(2) Alphonso Webb in the amount of $6,665 plus 10 percent interest per year from January 11, 2017;
(3) Jose Alamaras in the amount of $1,529.06 plus 10 percent interest per year from January 13, 2017;
(4) Mary Ann Asuncion in the amount of $8,528.76 plus 10 percent interest per year from December 22, 2015;
(5) Mark Cambra in the amount of $1,417.77 plus 10 percent interest per year from May 17, 2016;
(6) Frank Cardona in the amount of $1,650 plus 10 percent interest per year from October 17, 2017;
(7) Constance Cole in the amount of $1,692.50 plus 10 percent interest per year from January 3, 2017;
(8) Jenny Conley in the amount of $1,301.49 plus 10 percent interest per year from January 19, 2016;
(9) Beryl Fisher in the amount of $5,275 plus 10 percent interest per year from January 27, 2017;
(10) Fatima Harris in the amount of $2,530 plus 10 percent interest per year from March 2, 2017;
(11) Salam Kneifati in the amount of $1,128 plus 10 percent interest per year from December 16, 2016;
(12) Youland Malekpatehviri in the amount of $2,682.28 plus 10 percent interest per year from April 18, 2017;
(13) Carlota Mata in the amount of $2,234.64 plus 10 percent interest per year from January 29, 2016;
(14) Robert Mize in the amount of $5,660 plus 10 percent interest per year from December 11, 2017;
(15) Catalina Oney in the amount of $2,296.40 plus 10 percent interest per year from October 20, 2016;
(16) Marty Robinson in the amount of $9,250 plus 10 percent interest per year from December 16, 2016;
(17) Monica Rodriguez in the amount of $168.97 plus 10 percent interest per year from January 29, 2016;
(18) Narith Ry in the amount of $3,008.20 plus 10 percent interest per year from October 31, 2018;
(19) David Sanchez in the amount of $342.25 plus 10 percent interest per year from April 8, 2016;
(20) John Spear in the amount of $3,837.08 plus 10 percent interest per year from January 23, 2017;
(21) Ryan Needem in the amount of $19,534.50 plus 10 percent interest per year from December 23, 2015;
(22) Anthony Timmons in the amount of $9,171.16 plus 10 percent interest per year from October 4, 2016;
(23) Wyatt Tramell in the amount of $3,025.30 plus 10 percent interest per year from October 8, 2015;
(24) Marina Velasquez in the amount of $5,814.28 plus 10 percent interest per year from October 3, 2016; and
(25) Jose Venegas in the amount of $4,166.75 plus 10 percent interest per year from October 27, 2016.

Respondent must also comply with California Rules of Court, rule 9.20, and perform the acts specified in subdivisions (a) and (c) of that rule within 30 and 40 calendar days, respectively, after the effective date of this order.

Respondent must pay monetary sanctions to the State Bar of California Client Security Fund in the amount of $2,000 in accordance with Business and Professions Code section 6086.13 and rule 5.137 of the Rules of Procedure of the State Bar. Monetary sanctions are enforceable as a money judgment and may be collected by the State Bar through any means permitted by law.

Costs are awarded to the State Bar in accordance with Business and Professions Code section 6086.10 and are enforceable both as provided in Business and Professions Code section 6140.7 and as a money judgment, and may be collected by the State Bar through any means permitted by law.
