IN RE Henry T. GARLAND

Original Mandamus Proceeding Sitting: Sandee Bryan Marion, Chief Justice Rebeca C. Martinez, Justice Beth Watkins, Justice

This proceeding arises out of Cause Nos. 789989, 789991, 792091, and 792093, styled State of Texas v. Henry T. Garland, pending in the County Court at Law No. 9, Bexar County, Texas, the Honorable Gloria Saldana presiding.

On May 29, 2020, relator filed a pro se petition for writ of mandamus in which he complains the respondent has not forwarded his four applications for writ of habeas corpus to this court. Because relator has four applications for habeas corpus pending before County Court at Law No. 9 since May of 2018 and it appears no action has been taken on the applications, this court believes a serious question concerning the mandamus relief sought requires further consideration. See TEX. R. APP. P. 52.8(b). The respondent and the real parties in interest may file a response to the petition in this court no later than July 16, 2020. Any such response must conform to Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 52.4.

It is so ORDERED on June 16, 2020.

PER CURIAM

ATTESTED TO: /s/_________

Michael A. Cruz, Clerk of Court
