IN RE RENE ESTRADA
On Petition for Writ of Mandamus.
Before Chief Justice Contreras and Justices Benavides and Silva
ORDER
PER CURIAM
In this original proceeding, relator Rene Estrada seeks to compel the trial court to set aside an order requiring him to submit to a Rule 202 presuit deposition on or before July 7, 2021. See Tex. R. Civ. P. 202 (governing depositions before suit or to investigate claims). Currently before the Court is relator's "Motion to Seal Supplemental Mandamus Record." Relator asserts that specified documents filed in this original proceeding, including its supplemental record and certain items in the appendix to its petition for writ of mandamus, are subject to a protective order in related litigation, and accordingly, requests that we seal that documentation.
The Court, having examined and fully considered the motion to seal, is of the opinion that it should be granted. Accordingly, we grant the motion to seal and order that the relator's supplemental record filed on July 21, 2021, and Exhibits A and B in relator's appendix, filed with the original petition for writ of mandamus on June 30, 2021, and amended petition for writ of mandamus filed on July 1, 2021, and second amended petition for writ of mandamus filed on July 13, 2021, shall be sealed to the public. Any public access to these filings shall be determined by motion filed with this Court, with appropriate notice to the parties, and upon a showing of good cause. This order does not affect or limit the rights of the parties to this original proceeding to view the records at issue without further order from this Court.
