Opinion

No. 05-06-00717-CV

Opinion issued June 9, 2006.

Original Proceeding Dallas County, Texas.

Writ of Mandamus Dismissed.

Before Justices WHITTINGTON, FITZGERALD, and LANG-MIERS.

MEMORANDUM OPINION

Relator complains that the Texas Department of Criminal Justice has not properly credited him for seven days of pre-sentence jail time. We lack jurisdiction to issue a writ of mandamus against the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. See Tex. Gov't Code Ann. § 22.221 (Vernon 2004). Moreover, if the relator has a dispute regarding time-served credit, he must seek relief under section 501.0081 of the government code which provides for the resolution of such disputes. See id. § 501.0081 (Vernon 2004). Accordingly, we DISMISS relator's request for mandamus relief for want of jurisdiction.
