Original Mandamus Proceeding
ORDER
In conjunction with their original mandamus proceeding, Relators—Jakie Wayne Compton, Equipment Leasing Specialties, LLC, Raitz Enterprises, Inc., and Casey Raitz—have filed in this court an unopposed motion for temporary relief. These matters stem from Cause No. CV36015 in the 266th District Court of Erath County, Texas—a personal injury lawsuit that was filed by the real parties in interest against Relators and others allegedly responsible for damages resulting from a multi-vehicle accident. The mandamus specifically relates to a June 24, 2020 order by which the trial court compelled discovery of certain financial information. Relators complain that the Honorable Jason C. Cashon abused his discretion by ordering Relators to produce sensitive tax, banking, financial, and other business records and information.
In the unopposed motion for temporary relief, Relators request immediate temporary relief from the trial court's June 24, 2020 order so that this court may consider the merits of the petition for writ of mandamus that was filed concurrently with the motion. See TEX. R. APP. P. 52.10(a). We grant the unopposed motion for temporary relief and hereby stay enforcement of the trial court's June 24, 2020 order pending further order of this court or final disposition of this mandamus proceeding. See TEX. R. APP. P. 52.10(b).
Furthermore, pursuant to Rule 52.4 of the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure, we request that a response to Relators' petition for writ of mandamus be filed in this court on or before July 21, 2020.
