CAUSE NO. 12-17-00114-CV
11-22-2017
IN THE INTEREST OF C.C. AND Z.C., CHILDREN
APPEALED FROM COUNTY COURT AT LAW NO 2IN AND FOR ANGELINA COUNTY, TEXAS
ORDER
On June 30, 2017, this Court ordered that if, after proper notice and a hearing, the trial court determined that C.C. and Z.C. are not Indian children, the trial court shall appoint new appellate counsel for R.A. The trial court determined that the children are not Indian children, but reappointed the same attorney who represented R.A. before this case was abated and remanded. Accordingly, it is ordered that this cause be remanded to the trial court for appointment of new and different counsel to represent Appellant, R.A., in this appeal, and that such appointment be certified to this Court on or before Friday, December 1, 2017. Newly appointed counsel shall have twenty (20) days from the appointment to file any supplemental briefing. Appellee shall have twenty (20) days from the date Appellant's brief is filed to file a brief.
WITNESS the Honorable James T. Worthen, Chief Justice, Court of Appeals, 12th Court of Appeals District, Tyler, Texas.
GIVEN UNDER MY HAND AND SEAL OF OFFICE at Tyler, Texas this 22nd day of November 2017, A.D.
Respectfully yours,
Pam Estes, CLERK
