IN THE INTEREST OF B.M. AND M.M., CHILDREN

On Appeal from the 296th Judicial District Court Collin County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. 296-30022-2023

ORDER

BONNIE LEE GOLDSTEIN JUSTICE.

By order dated July 24, 2024 we granted appellant's request for an extension of time to file his brief and ordered the brief to be filed by August 7, 2024. To date appellant has not filed his brief nor otherwise corresponded with the Court regarding the status of appellant's brief.

Because this is an appeal in a termination of parental rights case and these types of cases must be handled expeditiously, appellant is ORDERED to file his brief within FIVE DAYS of the date of this order. See Tex. R. Jud. Admin. 6.2(a) (appeal of termination of the parent-child relationship should, so far as reasonably possible, be disposed of within 180 days of the date the notice of appeal is filed).

We CAUTION appellant that failure to file the brief by the time specified may result in an order for the trial court to conduct a hearing to determine why appellant's brief has not been filed and if appointment of new counsel is necessary to ensure appellant receives the effective representation of counsel. See Tex. R. App. P. 38.8(a)(2).
