Opinion

No. 05-08-00208-CV

Opinion Issued February 28, 2008.

Original Proceeding from the 366th Judicial District Court of Collin County, Texas and from the 255th Judicial District Court, 301st District Court, 302nd District Court, 303rd District Court and the 330th District Court of Dallas County, Texas.

Before Justices MORRIS, RICHTER, and MAZZANT.

MEMORANDUM OPINION

In this original proceeding, relator seeks mandamus relief to conform an "unknown number of orders-more than 2000-issued by the District Courts of Collin and Dallas Counties" with federal law. Relator states the orders require remittance of child support payments to a private entity, "Guardian Ad Litem" and, that following a decision of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, those orders are now in conflict with federal law. Relator seeks mandamus relief to modify all child support orders in Dallas and Collin Counties that require payment to be remitted to "Guardian Ad Litem" either by the obligor or the State Distribution Unit and to remove any reference to "Guardian Ad Litem" from the orders.

After examining relator's arguments contained in its petition together with the matters relator either filed with the Court or tendered to the Court, the latter of which we describe in more detail in our order issued contemporaneously herewith, we conclude relator has not shown that it is entitled to the relief requested. Tex. R. App. P. 52.8. Accordingly, we deny relator's petition for writ of mandamus.
