From the 150th Judicial District Court, Bexar County, Texas
Trial Court No. 2016-PA-00416
Honorable Angelica Jimenez, Judge Presiding
ORDER
This is an accelerated appeal of the trial court's order terminating appellant's parental rights. The disposition of this appeal is governed by the standards set forth in Rule 6.2 of the Texas Rules of Judicial Administration. TEX. R. JUD. ADMIN. 6.2. Accordingly, this appeal is required to be brought to final disposition within 180 days of the date the notice of appeal is filed. Id.
Notices of appeal were timely filed by both the mother and the father, and their briefs were due to be filed on June 7, 2017. By order dated June 13, 2017, a motion for extension of time filed by the attorney for the appellant father was granted, extending the deadline to file the brief to June 27, 2017. The brief for the appellant father was filed on June 27, 2017.
On May 16, 2017, James Peplinski was appointed to represent the appellant mother on appeal. Mr. Peplinski has not filed a motion for extension of time or a brief for the appellant mother. It is therefore ORDERED that Mr. Peplinski file a brief for the appellant mother no later than July 10, 2017. Given the time constraints governing the disposition of this appeal, any requests for extensions of time will be disfavored.
