ORDER APPOINTMENT MEMBERS TO THE CHILDREN'S COMMISSION

Loretta H. Rush Chief Justice

The General Assembly has created the Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana. See generally Ind. Code 2-5-36. The enabling legislation authorizes the Chief Justice of Indiana to appoint "[o]ne (1) judge or justice with experience in juvenile law" to the Commission to serve a four-year term; and to appoint "[o]ne (1) representative of the juvenile probation system" to the Commission to serve a four-year term.

The current terms of Commission members Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush and Susan Lightfoot, Chief Probation Officer of Henry County, expire effective June 30, 2021. The Court now reappoints Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush to a new term effective July 1, 2021. As the representative of the juvenile probation system, the Court appoints Kory George, Chief Probation Officer of Wayne County, to a four-year term. The new terms will expire on June 30, 2025, or when their successors are appointed.
