Supreme Court of Arkansas
Dec 18, 1989
301 Ark. App'x 618 (Ark. 1989)

Opinion

Delivered December 18, 1989

The Arkansas Bar Association, through its Special Committee on Model Rules of Professional Conduct, has petitioned us to consider and approve proposed amendments to the Model Rules of Professional Conduct. The proposals were adopted by the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association in February 1987 and February 1989. The proposed changes affect Rules 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, 3, 7, 6.3, 7.2, 7.3, and 7.4. The changes, in part, are intended to bring the rules into conformity with the Supreme Court's decision in Shapero v. Kentucky Bar Association, 486 U.S. 466, 108 S.Ct. 1916 (1988).

As is customary, before acting on these proposals, we invite comments from the bench and bar, as well as from interested parties in general, with respect to these proposals. Such comments should be filed with the Supreme Court Clerk on or before March 1, 1990. Copies of the proposed amendments may be obtained from the Supreme Court Clerk.
