IN THE INTEREST OF A.J.A., A.O.B., M.B., JR., AND M.D.B., Children
From the 288th Judicial District Court, Bexar County, Texas Trial Court No. 2022-PA-00236 Honorable Kimberly Burley, Judge Presiding
ORDER
PER CURIAM
This is an accelerated appeal of an order terminating appellants A.A. and M.B.'s parental rights which must be disposed of by this court within 180 days of the date the notice of appeal is filed. Tex. R. Jud. Admin. 6.2. Appellants' briefs were originally due on November 6, 2023 but were not filed. On November 8, 2023, appellant M.B. filed an unopposed motion requesting a twenty-day extension of time to file his brief, and we granted his motion and ordered his brief due by November 27, 2023. On December 6, 2023, M.B. filed his brief as well as a motion requesting an extension of time until December 6, 2023 to deem the brief timely filed. After consideration, we grant the motion and deem M.B.'s brief timely filed.
As of date, appellant A.A. has not filed a brief nor a motion requesting an extension of time to file a brief. We therefore order appellant A.A. to file her brief by December 27, 2023. If appellant A.A. does not file her brief by the date ordered, we will abate this appeal to the trial court for an abandonment hearing. See Tex. Fam. Code § 107.013(a)(1) (giving indigent persons right to counsel in termination cases); In re M.S., 115 S.W.3d 534, 544 (Tex. 2003) (holding that right to counsel in termination cases includes right to effective counsel).
