IN RE CURTIS L. ADAMS

Original Proceeding

MEMORANDUM OPINION

Relator Curtis L. Adams seeks mandamus relief to compel the Montgomery County District Clerk to file and acknowledge receipt of his petition to modify the terms of the judgment entered against him in a sexually violent predator commitment proceeding. This Court's statutory authority to issue a writ of mandamus does not extend to the district clerk unless the writ is necessary to enforce this Court's jurisdiction. See Tex. Gov't Code Ann. § 22.221 (West 2004). Relator has failed to demonstrate the writ is necessary to enforce this Court's jurisdiction. The petition for writ of mandamus is therefore denied.

PETITION DENIED.

PER CURIAM Before McKeithen, C.J., Gaultney and Horton, JJ.
