In Matter of Suspension of Rule 5.E

Supreme Court of Arizona
Feb 10, 2010
Administrative Order No. 2010-18 (Ariz. Feb. 10, 2010)

Opinion

Administrative Order No. 2010-18

February 10, 2010.

The Arizona Constitution, Article 6, Sections 36.E and 41.K, provide that the Supreme Court shall adopt rules of procedure for the Commissions on Appellate and Trial Court Appointments. The Court having adopted Uniform Rules for the Commissions has now determined that the State of Arizona financial crisis makes it impractical to hold an annual meeting of all commissioners pursuant to Rule 5.e during FY 2010. Therefore, pursuant to Article 6, Sections 36.E and 41.K of the Arizona Constitution,

IT IS ORDERED that Rule 5.e. of the Uniform Rules of Procedure for the Commissions on Appellate and Trial Court Appointments, establishing an annual meeting of all commissioners, is suspended for FY 2010. The AOC shall transmit to all members of the Commissions on Appellate and Trial Court Appointments statistical information about action during FY 2009 including information about nominees and appointees, and statistical information about applications, nominations, and appointments relative to the constitutional goal of diversity.

Dated this 10th day of February, 2010.
