MALIK ALQADR IHSAAN v. JOHN COMISH, ET AL

In Re: Malik Alqadr Ihsaan, applying for supervisory writs, 19th Judicial District Court, Parish of East Baton Rouge, No. 461, 998. BEFORE: PETTIGREW, DRAKE AND CHUTZ, JJ.

WRIT DENIED. Relator, Malik Alqadr Ihsaan, filed an application for writ of mandamus contending that the district court has not responded to the "Motions for Preliminary and Default Judgments." Mandamus is only appropriate to compel a public official to take action that the law clearly states is required. Acadian Ambulance Service, Inc. v. Parish of East Baton Rouge, 97-2119 (La. App. 1st Cir. 11/6/98), 722 So.2d 317, 324, writ denied, 98-2995 (La. 12/9/98), 729 So.2d 583. The district court's records show that a hearing was held on May 20, 2013, and the district court entered a ruling ordering the suit abandoned under La. Code Civ. P. art. 561.
