On Appeal from the County Court at Law No. 3 Fort Bend County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. 23-CCV-074036
Panel Consists of Justices Wise, Bourliot, and Wilson.
ORDER
PER CURIAM
This is an appeal from a judgment signed March 21, 2024. The notice of appeal was filed March 26, 2024. Although it was filed on behalf of Fred Chimereze Ibeto aka Chimereze Ibeto, Quenesha Ibeto, and all other occupants of disputed property located in Rosharon, Texas, only the first party personally signed the notice of appeal. There is no indication Chimereze Ibeto, who is proceeding pro se, has been licensed in Texas to practice as counsel. A pro se party who is not licensed counsel cannot file a notice of appeal on behalf of another person. See Paselk v. Rabun, 293 S.W.3d 600, 606 (Tex. App.-Texarkana 2009, no pet.). The court notified the parties that the appeal was subject to dismissal without further notice as to all appellants aside from Chimereze Ibeto unless any party demonstrated that the court had jurisdiction as to those other appellants ' appeal. No party filed any response to the court's notice. Accordingly, the appeal is dismissed for want of jurisdiction as to Quenesha Ibeto and all other occupants of disputed property located in Rosharon, Texas aside from Chimereze Ibeto. The appeal will proceed solely as to Chimereze Ibeto's dispute with appellee.
