    Defining unjust enrichment

    In a split decision, the court of appeals reversed on the unjust enrichment claim. Herlache v. Rucks , No. A21-1427, 2022 WL 2439154, at *1 (Minn. App. July 5, 2022). Although noting that "Rucks does not contest the district court's determination that she was unjustly enriched," the court of appeals majority held that for unjust enrichment claims involving investments to real property, a plaintiff must present evidence that the plaintiff's investments added value to the land.
