ORDER DENYING PETITION
This original petition seeks a writ of mandamus and/or prohibition directing respondents to resolve a postconviction petition for a writ of habeas corpus petitioner filed in open court during his parental rights hearing on October 10, 2016. Petitioner asserts no action has been taken on the petition since it was filed. We have reviewed the documents submitted in this matter, and without deciding upon the merits of any claims raised therein, we decline to exercise original jurisdiction in this matter. See NRS 34.160; NRS 34.170; NRS 34.320; NRS 34.330; Pan v. Eighth Judicial Dist. Court, 120 Nev. 222, 228-29, 88 P.3d 840, 844 (2004). We expect the district court will resolve all pending matters as expeditiously as its calendar permits.
Because no filing fee was charged in this matter, see NRS 2.250(1)(d)(3), we deny the motion to proceed in forma pauperis as moot. --------
