No. 04-16-00790-CR

Russell Clayton HAMMER, Appellant v. The STATE of Texas, Appellee
From the 218th Judicial District Court, Wilson County, Texas
Trial Court No. 16-06-080-CRW
Honorable Russell Wilson, Judge Presiding
ORDER
The reporter's record in this appeal was originally due January 30, 2017; however, the court granted the reporter, Leticia Escamilla, extensions of time to file the record until March 27, 2017. Our last order advised that no further extensions of time would be granted absent a showing of extraordinary circumstances that prevented the timely filing of the record.
Escamilla has filed another notice of late record, requesting a further extension until April 27, 2017. The notice explains that Escamilla has been working on other records, the last of which she would file by March 31. Escamilla states the record in this appeal is approximately 450 pages and she anticipates it will be completed by April 27, 2017.
We order Leticia Escamilla to file the complete record in this appeal by April 27, 2017. If Escamilla is unable to perform all her duties and complete the record in a timely manner, the preparation of this record must take priority. We order Escamilla to take whatever steps are necessary, including foregoing in-court work, requesting a substitute reporter, and hiring competent assistance, to ensure the record in this appeal is filed by the date ordered.
Escamilla is advised that if the record is not filed by the date ordered, we may order her to appear and show cause why she should not be held in civil and criminal contempt, sanctioned, and referred to the Judicial Branch Certification Commission.
We further order the clerk of this court to serve this order on Leticia Escamilla by electronic mail and by first class United States mail and by certified mail, return receipt requested. Because "[t]he trial and appellate courts are jointly responsible for ensuring that the appellate record is timely filed," Tex. R. App. P. 35.3(c), we also order the clerk of this court to serve a copy of this order on the trial court.
