Sylvia Ann HALL, Appellant v. The STATE of Texas, Appellee

From the County Court at Law No. 2, Bexar County, Texas
Trial Court No. 604034
Honorable Grace M. Uzomba, Judge Presiding

ORDER

Appellant's brief was originally due on March 20, 2020 and was not filed. We notified appellant her brief was late and cautioned her that if she did not file an adequate response by April 6, 2020, we would abate this appeal to the trial court for an abandonment hearing. Because appellant did not respond to our order, on April 17, 2020, we abated this appeal and ordered the trial court to conduct a hearing on whether appellant desired to prosecute her appeal. The trial court held that hearing on September 18, 2020. The record of the hearing shows the appellant indicated she did not want to abandon her appeal. She also requested a month to hire an attorney. Our records show that since that time, appellant has retained Ms. Leigh Cutter to represent her in this appeal, and the clerk of this court forwarded the appellate record to Ms. Cutter's office on October 23, 2020. We therefore ORDER appellant to file her brief by December 7, 2020.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of the said court on this 5th day of November, 2020.
