Appellant's amended brief was originally due May 30, 2024 but was not filed. On June 4, 2024 we ordered appellant to file the brief no later than June 14, 2024. On June 7, 2024 appellant filed a motion asking for an extension of time to file the brief. On June 13, 2024, we granted the motion and ordered appellant to file the amended appellant's brief no later than July 15, 2024. Appellant did not file her amended brief. After our Clerk's Office followed up with appellant, appellant filed a second, late motion for extension of time. Appellant explains she faces "false allegations of violating the order in question since August of 2023." She further explains her charges were dismissed two days after her brief was due. Finally, she identifies a series of personal and familial medical setbacks. She also claims her previously filed brief is of no use, and she needs to start over now that she has the record.
Appellant has shown extraordinary circumstances justifying a further extension, and we grant in part the motion. We order Appellant to file the amended appellant's brief no later than August 15, 2024. No further extensions of time will be granted. Appellant is advised that if her brief is not filed by the date ordered, the appeal may be dismissed without further notice. See Tex. R. App. P. 38.8(a); 42.3(c).
