MARVIN LOUIS GUY, Appellant, v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee.
Do not publish. Tex.R.App.P. 47.2(b).
ON APPEAL FROM THE 27TH DISTRICT COURT OF BELL COUNTY, TEXAS
Before Chief Justice Contreras and Justices Tijerina and Peña, J.
ORDER OF ABATEMENT
PER CURIAM.
This cause is before the Court on a trial court reporter's fifth request for extension of time to file the reporter's record. The reporter's record in this matter was originally due on March 26, 2024. The trial court reporter, Holly Wolfe, estimates the record will be 70-80 volumes.
After consideration of the previous extension requests granted and current request, the Court is of the opinion that, in the interest of justice, the matter should be abated to allow time for the preparation of the lengthy reporter's record. The trial court's request for extension of time to file the reporter's record is hereby granted, and the reporter's record is now due thirty days from the date this order is issued. The cause will be reinstated upon receipt of the reporter's record.
Furthermore, the trial court reporter's request to submit the transcript via thumb drive or external hard drive is denied at this time. This request may be further considered when the record is ready for submission and only if actual technical difficulties arise. The court reporter is instructed to work with the Clerk of the Court to properly submit the reporter's record and is further reminded the record shall comply with the Uniform Format Manual for Texas Reporter's Records to the extent possible.
