ORDER
NANCY KENNEDY JUSTICE
We REINSTATE these appeals.
On March 28, 2024, we abated these appeals for the trial court to hold a hearing and make findings and recommendations concerning appellant's counsel's failure to timely file appellant's brief. Appellant's brief was originally due January 8, 2024, and is now more than four months overdue. As of the date of this order, appellant's counsel, Valencia Bush, has not filed appellant's brief.
Before the Court is the trial court's request for an extension of time to comply with this Court's order of March 28, 2024. We GRANT the motion and ORDER the trial court to hold the hearing and file the findings required by that order no later than JUNE 17, 2024.
We ABATE these appeals for the trial court to comply with this order and the order of March 28, 2024. The appeals shall be reinstated when the Court receives the trial court's findings or at such other time as the Court deems appropriate.
We DIRECT the Clerk to send copies of this order to the Honorable Stephanie Huff, Presiding Judge, 291st Judicial District Court; Felicia Pitre, Dallas County District Clerk; Sasha Brooks, Official Court Reporter, 291st Judicial District Court; Christina O'Neil, Chief Judicial Staff Counsel for the Criminal District Courts, Dallas County; and counsel for all parties.
