Opinion

No. 3D19-1826

01-22-2020

Derrick GRANTLEY, Appellant, v. The STATE of Florida, Appellee.

Derrick Grantley, in proper person. Ashley Moody, Attorney General, and Sandra Lipman, Assistant Attorney General, for appellee.

Derrick Grantley, in proper person.

Ashley Moody, Attorney General, and Sandra Lipman, Assistant Attorney General, for appellee.

Before FERNANDEZ, HENDON, and MILLER, JJ.

HENDON, J.

In view of the State's response and our review of the record on appeal, we reverse the trial court's order barring Grantley from all future pleadings and documents related to the underlying case unless signed by a member in good standing of the Florida Bar. We agree with the State that it does not appear that Grantley's limited filings in this case demonstrate an egregious abuse of the post-conviction process warranting the barring of further pro se pleadings.

Reversed.
