JOZANNAH LORRAINE GONZALEZ, Appellant, v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee.

Do not publish. Tex.R.App.P. 47.2(b).

ON APPEAL FROM THE 156TH DISTRICT COURT OF LIVE OAK COUNTY, TEXAS

Before Justices Benavides, Tijerina, and Silva

ORDER

Per Curiam

Appellant Jozannah Lorraine Gonzalez appealed her conviction for endangering a child and filed her brief on December 20, 2023. We granted the State's request to extend the deadline to file a responsive brief until February 20, 2024. To date, the State has not filed a brief or sought another extension.

Although the appellee is generally not required to file a brief, the Court believes that a responsive brief from the State will aid the Court's decisional process in this appeal. Accordingly, the State is ordered to file a brief by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. See Tex. R. App. P. 43.6 (permitting courts of appeals to "make any other appropriate order that the law and the nature of the case require").
