Gerardo Gomez Petitioner v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue Respondent

ORDER

Patrick J. Urda Judge

This case was previously set for trial at the Court's session scheduled to begin in Chicago, Illinois, on May 18, 2020. Due to concerns about COVID-19, the trial session was canceled, and this case was assigned to the undersigned.

On October 15, 2021, the Commissioner filed a motion to set for a time and date certain, which requested that this case be set on the nearest available remote calendar session for a time and date certain. The undersigned's next remote calendar session is the January 31, 2022, at Columbus, Ohio. Because this trial session is being conducted remotely, this place of trial is for administrative purposes only. We will ask Mr. Gomez to show cause in writing why the Court should not grant the Commissioner's motion and set this case on the Court's January 31, 2022, Columbus, Ohio, remote trial session. Accordingly, it is

ORDERED that, on or before November 18, 2021, Mr. Gomez shall show cause in writing why the Court should not grant the Commissioner's motion to set this case for trial at a time and date certain. If Mr. Gomez fails to file a response, the Court may grant the Commissioner's motion and set this case during the Court's January 31, 2022, Columbus, Ohio, remote trial calendar.
