Gerardo Gomez Petitioner v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue Respondent

ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE

Patrick J. Urda Judge.

This case was previously set for trial at the Court's session scheduled to begin in Chicago, Illinois on May 18, 2020. Due to concerns about COVID-19, the trial session was canceled, and this case was assigned to the undersigned.

On March 8, 2021, the Court ordered petitioner Gerardo Gomez (through his counsel) to file a status report apprising the Court in detail of the then-present status of this case on or before May 7, 2021. In that Order, we indicated that if Mr. Gomez fails to file a status report, the Court will take appropriate action. As of the service date of this Order, Mr. Gomez has not filed a status report. We will give Mr. Gomez one last chance to avoid dismissal by directing him to explain in writing as to why this case should not be dismissed for lack of prosecution. If Mr. Gomez does not respond, the Court may dismiss this case, which would end his case absent further action from the Court. Accordingly, it is

ORDERED that, on or before July 8, 2021, Mr. Gomez shall show cause in writing as to why this case should not be dismissed for lack of prosecution.
