ORDER

On order of the Chief Justice, the motion by plaintiff-appellee for an extension of the time for filing the brief on appeal is considered and, it appearing the brief on appeal was filed November 24, 1998, an extension of time until that date is GRANTED.

The motion by The Prisons and Corrections Section of the State Bar of Michigan for leave to file a brief as amicus curiae is also considered and IT IS GRANTED.
