On Appeal from the 398th District Court of Hidalgo County, Texas
Before Chief Contreras and Justices Benavides and Silva
ORDER
PER CURIAM.
This cause is before the Court on the court reporter's failure to file the reporter's record. The reporter's record in this matter was originally due on June 21, 2024. After five previous extensions, the reporter's record was due to be filed on October 21, 2024. On October 22, 2024, the court reporter, Akilah Welborn, requested a sixth extension of time to file the reporter's record indicating that she believes she "can file the record by [November] 5, [20]24." To date, the court reporter has failed to timely file the record.
The Court, having fully examined and considered the extensions previously granted in this cause and the court reporter's failure to file the record as indicated on her sixth extension request, is of the opinion that, in the interest of justice, an order should be entered. The Court looks with disfavor upon the delay caused by the court reporter's failure to have filed the record in this matter.
Accordingly, the court reporter, Akilah Welborn, is hereby ordered to file the reporter's record in this Court no later than 5:00 p.m. on December 2, 2024. No further requests for extension of time will be entertained by the Court. If the Court reporter fails to file the record within the foregoing specified period of time, the Court will act appropriately to avoid further delay and to preserve the parties' rights.
