The parties' Joint Rule 26(f) Report indicates there is a dispute regarding this Court's subject matter jurisdiction, given the absence of any federal cause of action in the operative complaint. Dkt. No. 28. Defendant KHP III Goleta, LLC is ORDERED to show cause at a hearing on July 9, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. why this matter should not be remanded to state court. Defendant should submit a filing, no longer than 7 pages, by June 25, 2021 addressing this issue. Plaintiff Orlando Garcia may file a response, no longer than 7 pages, by July 2, 2021.
