VERONICA GALLARDO A.K.A. LAURA VERONICA GALLARDO, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Albert G. Lauber, Judge

The petition in this case was filed in April 2017. The case was continued from the Court's January 7, 2019, Los Angeles trial session and was put on a status report schedule. In the five years since this case has been pending, the parties have filed 21 joint or separate status reports. On September 16, 2022, respondent filed another status report stating that "the parties still need to attempt to finalize a settlement."

On September 28, 2022, the Court convened a conference call with the parties. We advised the parties that we would give them an additional 60 days in which to attempt to negotiate a settlement. If settlement seems unlikely at that point, we would expect to set the case for trial. The undersigned is currently available for a one-week special trial session during April 3-7, 2023, or after June 12, 2023.

In consideration of the foregoing, it is

ORDERED that the parties shall file, on or before November 28, 2022, a joint status report detailing the then-present status of the case.
