Case No. SC01-107.
January 23, 2003.
Lower Tribunal Nos. 1999-31,562(10A), 2000-31,209(10A), 2000-31,770(10A).
Respondent Mygnon Champion Evans has petitioned for review of the referee's report in this attorney discipline matter. Having considered the referee's report and the briefs filed by the parties, the Court approves the referee's report in full. Accordingly, Mygnon Champion Evans is hereby suspended from the practice of law for thirty days. Upon her reinstatement, Evans shall commence serving a two- year probation with all conditions as set forth in the referee's report, including the requirement that Evans undergo an office procedures and record-keeping analysis by and under the direction of the Law Office Management Assistance Service (LOMAS). Evans' suspension will be effective thirty days from the filing of this order so that she can close out her practice and protect the interests of existing clients. If Evans notifies this Court in writing that she is no longer practicing and does not need the thirty days to protect existing clients, this Court will enter an order making the suspension effective immediately. Evans shall accept no new business from the date of this order until she is reinstated to the practice of law in the State of Florida. Judgment for costs in the amount of $2,472.37 is entered against Mygnon Champion Evans and in favor of The Florida Bar, 650 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL 32399, for which sum let execution issue. Interest at the statutory rate shall accrue and be payable beginning thirty days after the judgment in this case becomes final unless The Florida Bar Board of Governors grants a waiver.
Not final until time expires to file motion for rehearing and, if filed, determined. The filing of a motion for rehearing shall not alter the effective date of this suspension.
