CASE NO.: SC16-1939

THE FLORIDA BAR Petitioner(s) v. ABBEY SARAH NORTON Respondent(s)
Lower Tribunal No(s).: 2017-90,013(OSC)
The Florida Bar filed a Petition for Contempt alleging that Respondent has failed to comply with the Court's order in Florida Board of Bar Examiners Re: A.S.N, SC14-1457 (Fla. August 29, 2014), by which Respondent was directed to comply with the terms and conditions of her probation, including timely submission of quarterly health provider reports, quarterly sworn statements, and quarterly monitoring fees. The Court issued an Order to Show Cause directing Respondent to show cause why she should not be held in contempt and sanctioned. Thereafter, The Florida Bar filed a "Notice of Compliance" stating that Respondent submitted all quarterly health provider reports and quarterly sworn statements, and paid quarterly monitoring fees in full, albeit not in a timely manner. The Court takes very seriously every attorney's obligation to completely and timely comply with the Court's orders. Therefore, because she did not properly comply with the Court's order until the Bar filed the Petition for Contempt, Respondent Abbey Sarah Norton is hereby held in contempt and is publicly reprimanded.
Judgment is entered for The Florida Bar, 651 East Jefferson Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-2300, for recovery of costs from Abbey Sarah Norton in the amount of $1,250.00, for which sum let execution issue. Not final until time expires to file motion for rehearing, and if filed, determined. NOT FINAL UNTIL TIME EXPIRES TO FILE REHEARING MOTION AND, IF FILED, DETERMINED. LABARGA, C.J., and PARIENTE, LEWIS, QUINCE, CANADY, POLSTON, JJ., and PERRY, SENIOR JUSTICE, concur. A True Copy
