On May 6, 2024, we ordered Janet E. Wright, Official Court Reporter for County Court at Law No. 3, to file the reporter's record no later than May 21, 2024. The record was first due January 26, 2024, and because Ms. Wright had failed to comply with two prior directives to file the record, we cautioned Ms. Wright that failure to comply could result in an order that she not sit as a court reporter until the record was filed.
In response to our May 6th order, Ms. Wright filed a letter stating "[n]o hearings were held in this case." The clerk's record, however, includes a "deputy reporter statement" signed by reporter Laura Weed and reciting, in part, that she "worked" on the case on November 27, 2023, the date the appealed judgment is signed.
Accordingly, we ORDER Ms. Wright, as the official court reporter for the trial court, to file the record no later than June 14, 2024. The record shall be filed without payment of costs. See Tex. R. Civ. P. 145.
We again caution Ms. Wright that failure to comply may result in an order that she not sit as a court reporter until the record is filed.
We DIRECT the Clerk of the Court to send a copy of this order to the Honorable Sally Montgomery, Presiding Judge of County Court at Law No. 3; Ms. Wright; Ms. Weed; and the parties.
