EMILY SUZANNE FELAND, Appellant v. DANIEL JOHN FELAND, Appellee

On Appeal from the County Court at Law Austin County, Texas
Trial Court Cause No. 2016L-6652

ORDER

This is an appeal from a final decree of divorce. The divorce concerns four minor children. On March 16, 2020, appellant filed a "motion to seal and to safeguard privacy." Appellant's motion is denied in part and granted in part. Courts of Appeals are not granted with the same authority to seal as trial courts and because the record before us has no motion to seal or order sealing the records at the trial court level, appellant's motion to seal is denied.

However, the court will grant the motion to safeguard the names of parties and children involved in this suit in its opinion pursuant to appellant's request, the Texas Family Code, and the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure. See Tex. Fam. Code Ann. § 109.002(d); Tex. R. App. P. 9.8. and 9.9(a)(3), (b).

It is so ordered.

PER CURIAM Panel Consists of Justices Zimmerer, Spain, and Hassan.
