EX PARTE: RICHARD LYNN WILSON
On Appeal from the 8th Judicial District Court
Hopkins County, Texas
Trial Court No. 0518066
Before Morriss, C.J., Carter and Moseley, JJ.
Memorandum Opinion by Justice Carter
MEMORANDUM OPINION
Richard Lynn Wilson has filed an appeal with this Court. The notice of appeal does not clearly indicate the nature of his attempted appeal beyond stating that it was from the denial of habeas corpus relief. We contacted the District Clerk of Hopkins County, and she informed us that there were no orders by the district court on Wilson's application for writ of habeas corpus—and that it had been transmitted to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, which denied the writ without written order. We contacted Wilson by letter asking him to show this Court how it had jurisdiction over his appeal. We received and have reviewed his response.
It appears that Wilson (who is presently imprisoned) is attempting to appeal from the denial by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals of his post-conviction application for writ of habeas corpus. He has directed our attention to Greenwell v. 13th Court of Appeals, 159 S.W.3d 645, 650 (Tex. Crim. App. 2005), as authority showing our jurisdiction over his appeal. It refers to an appeal from a request for pre-conviction relief and does not support his position.
We have no authority to review the rulings of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, and we have nothing before us to suggest that this is a pre-conviction petition and ruling by the district court which might be subject to our review. Jurisdiction has not been shown.
We dismiss the appeal for want of jurisdiction.
