EX PARTE TROY SHAW

On Appeal from the County Court at Law No. 6 Collin County, Texas
Trial Court Cause No. 006-02674-2017

ORDER

Before the Court is appellant's January 8, 2018 first motion for extension of time to file a response to our request for jurisdictional briefing. We note the motion does not include a certificate of service or certificate of conference as required by the rules of appellate procedure. See TEX. RS. APP. P. 9.5, 10.1(a)(5). Nonetheless, because a motion to extend time to file a brief may be determined upon filing, we GRANT the motion. See id. 10.3(a)(1). We ORDER appellant's jurisdictional letter brief be filed no later than February 5, 2018. The brief, and all other future filings, shall comply with the rules of appellate procedure.

We caution appellant that failure to timely file the letter brief may result in dismissal of the appeal without further notice. See id. 42.3(a),(c).
