Marcelino ESTRADA, Appellant v. The STATE of Texas, Appellee

From the 81st Judicial District Court, Atascosa County, Texas
Trial Court No. 17-09-0519-CRA
Honorable Russell Wilson, Judge Presiding

ORDER

Sitting: Luz Elena D. Chapa, Justice Irene Rios, Justice Beth Watkins, Justice

The appellant's brief was originally due July 6, 2020. Appellant has filed a motion to abate and reset brief deadlines, requesting until October 16 to file the appellant's brief. We construe the motion as a motion for an extension of time to file the appellant's brief. We grant the motion and order the appellant's brief due October 16, 2020. Given that the motion requests an extension of more than 90 days from the original due date, requests for further extensions of time will be disfavored.

/s/_________

Luz Elena D. Chapa, Justice

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of the said court on this 29th day of July, 2020.

/s/_________

Michael A. Cruz,

Clerk of Court
