ORDER
Mark V. Holmes Judge
This case was on the Court's October 19, 2015 trial calendar for San Francisco, California. A fight about who should administer the estate delayed a resolution for years. Then the pandemic struck. California Superior Court appointed coadministrators for the estate, who contracted for the sale of real property on which the government has a lien and which would fund the settlement of this case. That sale has then been in escrow for years, and other lienholders came forward. We spoke with the parties again today only to learn that the sale of the property fell through. The Superior Court has again put it up for sale, and now there are likely to be a forfeited deposit that can go into the estate. And we take some comfort in observing that that probate case is now more than 22 years old while ours is not yet 12.
The next state-court date is in April, and the Court still sees little advantage to moving the case off the status-report track, so it is
ORDERED that on or before May 24, 2024 the parties shall file a joint status report describing whether the IRS paid, and any other developments that might render the case moot.
