Dorsey v. State

Supreme Court of Florida

No. SC2024-0553 (Fla. Jun. 19, 2024)

Opinion

SC2024-0553

Hencile Dorsey, Petitioner(s) v. State of Florida, Respondent(s)

Lower Tribunal No(s).: 3D2022-1001; 3D2022-1428; 132019CF0O135380001XX; 132019CF0135410001XX

Petitioner has filed a petition for writ of mandamus with the Court. To the extent Petitioner seeks an order directing the Third District Court of Appeal to reinstate a dismissed appeal in case number 3D2022-1001, the petition is denied for failure to establish a clear legal right to the requested relief. See Huffman v. State, 813 So.2d 10, 11 (Fla. 2000). To the extent Petitioner seeks an order directing the Third District Court of Appeal to reinstate a dismissed appeal in case number 3D2022-1428, the petition is dismissed as moot because it appears the district court has already issued an order reinstating the appeal in that case.

LABARGA, COURIEL, GROSSHANS, FRANCIS, and SASSO, JJ., concur.
