The DETROIT NEWS, INC., Detroit Free Press, Inc., the Center for Michigan, Inc., a/k/a Bridge Michigan, Michigan Press Association, and Lisa McGraw, Plaintiffs, v. INDEPENDENT CITIZENS REDISTRICTING COMMISSION, Defendant.


Order

On order of the Court, the complaint for mandamus is considered. We DIRECT the defendant to answer the complaint by December 13, 2021. MCR 7.306(D). We direct the Clerk to schedule oral argument for December 15, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. MCR 7.306(J). In light of the expedited oral argument, the parties are not required to file briefs in conformity with MCR 7.312. The time allowed for oral argument shall be 30 minutes for each side. MCR 7.314.

Persons or groups interested in the determination of the issues presented in this case may move the Court for permission to file briefs amicus curiae. Amicus briefs shall be filed by December 13, 2021.
