Ronald Lee Derouen v. The State of Texas

Trial court: 300th District Court of Brazoria County Trial court case number: 90645-CR

ORDER

David Gunn, Judge.

Appellant, Ronald Lee Derouen, has appealed the trial court's January 2, 2024 judgment in the underlying case. The appellate record was completed on March 28, 2024, making appellant's brief initially due on or before April 29, 2024. See Tex. R. App. P. 38.6(a).

On April 26, 2024, appellant's court-appointed counsel filed a motion for extension of time to file an appellant's brief. The motion was granted by the Court, extending the deadline for filing appellant's brief to July 1, 2024.

On July 1, 2024, appellant's court-appointed counsel filed a second motion for extension of time to file appellant's brief. The motion was granted by the Court, extending the deadline for filing appellant's brief to August 29, 2024.

On August 29, 2024, appellant's court-appointed counsel filed a third motion for extension of time to file a brief, requesting that the deadline for filing a brief be extended to October 13, 2024. Appellant subsequently filed his brief on September 30, 2024.

Appellant's third motion for extension of time to file his brief is granted, and his September 30, 2024 brief was therefore timely filed.

It is so ORDERED.
